Magic Mandolin Lesson

My youngest son took a mandolin lesson recently. Although he has never played the mandolin before, he enjoyed it and was very excited. He has always been a bit more difficult to learn music than I am. It was something I wasn’t sure if it would be. It’s important that everyone plays. My wife is a fiddler. I play the accordion and my older son the harmonica and guitar. My daughter plays the banjo. My son might enjoy learning mandolin and begin practicing. This is how we could all create music together. However, my son refused to listen to me at times and refused to take a mandolin lesson.

He only loved rock and roll. Although I enjoy rock music and have played it in the future, it is not the kind of music that can teach you how to play with your soul. I was a child who played an electric guitar. I didn’t care about how good or poor I was at it. I just wanted to be able to play a few chords loudly. All it comes down to ego, raucous sound and all that. Mandolin for Sale a tool that teaches tenderness, but my son did not want to hear anything about a lesson on guitar, let alone a lesson on mandolin.

But, it all changed one night. My entire family got together. My oldest son is an excellent harmonica player and guitarist, but he is shy to share his talents with others. He’s 16 years old and has just fallen in love. I can still remember him returning from his first serious date. He seemed happy and in great spirits. He picked up his harp suddenly and began to play a tune.

He invited the rest of us to join him, one by one, until we were all playing together. It worked. We had never played together so well before that. My little boy didn’t play that day. He was just looking at us with wide eyes. He wanted to try the mandolin lesson again the next day. He was eager to begin the lesson, so I searched for a teacher. I was able to pick up a few things so I taught him his first mandolin lesson.
